It has been a while since we've trekked these cool streets for art. They've added a new gallery to give us 4 stopping points. We'll start at an old friend - Waverly. Tom Semmes (pictured here) works in the tradition of representational painting. His work, which explores a variety of subjects including landscape, figure and still life, captures the essential feel and heart of a scene, while developing each painting to bring harmony to all its separate parts.
At Gallery B, we'll visit "Destroy the Picture;" a group exhibit featuring paintings by several Virginia-based artists who have studied at The Art League School. Gallery B. And we'll also visit artist studios at Triangle Artist Studios & Studio B.
Last time we had dinner at Pizza Damarco which has a big back room. I'll check on that to see if it is available.
Our starting point is located 2 blocks from the Metro. There is also plentiful parking garages.
