3rd Annual Midsummer Night's Dream Arts Show at Washington Harbour

Sunday night, August 12, Art Soiree, Nick’s Riverside Grill, Tony & Joe’s Restaurant, Roche Salon, MRP Realty at Washington Harbour, and a group of talented local artists (including one of our own) use the magic of art to transform the heart of Georgetown into an enchanted wonderland of Midsummer Night’s Dream. So join in to celebrate the summer and immerse into a fantastic, fairy-laden setting of color, art, music and performance. This will be a follow up show to the infamous Art Metamorphosis Gala that took place June 14, 2012 at the Washington Harbour. I was there - that was wonderful!

The event was great in concept, but could be modified. The down time between acts was lengthy, with little to entertain between acts. The A/V programming failed to spotlight the instrumental players, having them drowned out by the DJ. It would have been preferable for use of the full space, and possibly overlapping acts and having them rotate around the space, as well as having the Fawns and Body art milling around the crowd throughout the event.

I just wanted to thank everyone who came to this. It wasn't our best event, but everyone in our group was very happy and friendly and looked pretty (the women anyway) and made the best of it. Made it fun. :-) See you next time.

A lot of bodies. Not much content. The people? Pleasant.

Although enjoyable, the event was somewhat poorly planned. Lot's of cool body painting, and tons of interesting people to watch, but not much live music, no visual art that I saw. Oh well

Great event, Ronn...You are the best host, as usual! Thank you!

Yes, that sounds good Johanna. We will meet at 6:45 at the sundial in front of Sequoia and House of Sweden. At 7:00 we will walk in. If you come later, you can text or call me -[masked] - but it will be a very crowded scene. It should be a beautiful night in one of DC's prettiest spots, a little crazy so try to be patient with everything and just enjoy the company and glitz of the occasion.

Do we have a meeting point yet? The Park by the stairs? The sundial by the House of Sweden? Don't want to miss out on meeting everyone. :)

    Is this place metro accessible??

    August 7, 2012

    • Johanna

I personally park or metro to Rosslyn, and then walk over the key bridge, down the canal to the waterfront. It is a scenic walk and about the same distance (10-15 minutes). :)

Johanna, what a cool idea (~; I think I'll do that too. Tx!
