Let's Build a House Together with Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity

Details
What better way to develop a sense of community than to help the one you are already a part of? Let's help build a house together with Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity! No experience necessary!
I have reserved 15 spots for a volunteer shift on 7/19/25, with the opportunity to add up to 15 additional spots if there is interest (and while there is availability). I have signed the group up for a $1,000 sponsorship and created a GoFundMe Link for fundraising below.
If you plan to join the event, I would like to request help with the fundraising :-) This could be a small donation yourself, and/or sharing the link with friends and family! 100% of the funds raised for this event will go to the $1,000 sponsorship, and anything extra will be given as an added donation. Thank you so much in advance :-)
Here is what AVL Area Habitat for Humanity has to share about our volunteer day!
"Thank you for volunteering to build homes and change lives on the Asheville Area Habitat Jobsite! During this build, volunteers will: frame floors and walls, set trusses, raise roof ladders, install doors and windows, paint, stucco, and landscape. No experience is necessary, just come prepared to work hard and have fun!"
The schedule is below:
8 am - Arrive on-site, meet your event host, and sign in with Habitat for Humanity
8:30 am - Orientation and safety talk (Attendance is required)
**Shift will run from 8:45 am-3 pm, with 15-minute breaks at 10 am and 1:30 pm, as well as lunch at 11:30 am.
3 pm - Tool cleanup and departure
Upon Arrival: Please sign in and bring your completed Waiver of Liability. Link here: https://www.ashevillehabitat.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Adult-Waiver.pdf
Work starts promptly at 8:30 am. Please plan to stay the full day. Partial shifts are not allowed.
Safety: Safety is our top priority. Volunteers are required to attend the daily safety meeting at 8:30 am. Late arrivals may not be permitted to work. Volunteers are required to use all safety equipment provided and report any injuries to the jobsite supervisor.
What to bring: Please bring a bag lunch and snacks. Water is provided, but please bring a drinking container to help us reduce waste! All tools and safety equipment are provided.
What to wear: Work and weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Be aware that you might be painting and will probably get dirty! A hat, sunscreen, and gloves are suggested. Safety glasses will be provided and must be worn at all times while on the jobsite.
Bad weather: Work typically continues despite rain or snow.
(In the event of bad weather, I will call to confirm that the shift is still happening, and will update in the chat by 7:30 am.)
We look forward to seeing you on the jobsite!
If you have any questions, please feel free to message me! Thank you for joining me in this volunteer effort! Can't wait to see you!
