Daniel Boone Scout Trail to Calloway Peak (7 Miles, 2,000 ft elevation gain)

Details
Join me on this 7-mile, 2,000 ft elevation gain day hike near Blowing Rock, NC! We will begin at the Boone Fork Parking lot and pick up the Tanawha Trail for about half a mile before picking up the Daniel Boone Scout Trail. We will follow this up another 3 miles to Calloway Peak. We will cover roughly 2,000 ft elevation gain in under four miles, so it is considered a challenging route.
Please bring plenty of water, and snacks to enjoy at the summit as we will likely spend some time enjoying the view! The duration for this hike is based on the averages of AllTrails users, and if meant to be a rough guide.
I have never completed this trail before, and am not a certified guide, so please make sure to download the trail and be sure you are comfortably navigating on your own as well :-)
By RSVPing to this event, you release me from all liability should you be injured (or worse) on this hike.
This trail is listed as dog-friendly, but based on the description and reviews, there are a series of 3 ladders at the end of the trail that need to be climbed in order to reach the summit. I am not sure what the terrain around the ladders looks like, so if you choose to bring your dog, please consider whether or not you can carry them up the ladder if necessary. If you do opt to bring your pup, they must be leashed at all times.
I will take care of all permits required for the group, but you will need to register your car (free) at the parking lot. Feel free to use the conversation feature in the event to coordinate carpooling if you are interested!
I will likely backpack in the area Friday night, if you want to come up early and join me!
Thanks so much and hope to see you all there!
