GSMNP - WILDFLOWERS HIKE- Bradley Creek/Cabin Flats trails (11 miles moderate).
NO DOGS in the Smokies). And I prefer no smokers on the hike, I am sorry. Weather - 70ies, sunny. But always bring a jacket, it is still April. Also have sturdy shoes for some minor creek crossing (I hope not, but just be prepared). Meet at 7:00 am. Form carpools. Bring $5- $7 for drivers (depending on number of people in cars). Leave by 7:15am, I usually do not wait, please be on time. Driving distance/time - approximately 50miles/1:15 hour. Drive to Smokemont Campground in GSMNP. Trail description: this is an in-and-out hike, moderate incline along Bradley creek. Start on trail around 8:45 am, be back to cars no later than 2:30 pm and be back in Asheville by around 4 pm. This is a hike with hopefully lots of wildflowers, so I am definitely going to stop and smell each and every one of them:) (I take photos). So if you want a super brisk hike, this particular one is not for you. Our pace will be around 2 miles/hour. I have not done this hike before, so join the adventure. P.S. - I have not allowed guests to sign up for this because it is a small group and I would like to give a chance for the members to sign first, if there are any open spots left, then we can invite guests.

What we're about

Public Group

Interested in taking a short, long, or somewhere in the middle length hike/stroll in western North Carolina? Look no further!!! Everything from a quick (3-4 hour) hike to a full day of hiking to overnight backpacking trips, we'll try it all! Check us out and experience the pristine and amazing wilderness of western North Carolina!!!

Everyone is welcome to the group, beginner or expert, 2 legs or 4, young and old. Please note that, while the group is open to everyone, not all hikes are appropriate for everyone. Hike organizers reserve the right to limit the hike size and screen potential participants to ensure their own safety and that of others in the group. Hike organizers will also try to post as much information as possible about the hike, however since there are so many trails in the area, we have not always hiked them before and are sometimes relying on published or posted information.

We will meet occasionally to plan the excursions and talk about how to use the meetup tools (ie. change your email settings to not get all the notifications and reminders, how to post photos, etc.)

The fee for this meetup group is paid for by the Organizer. There is a place on the website to chip in! Please remember that our hike leaders are volunteers. We are doing this because we enjoy hiking, and want everyone else to enjoy it too.

Suggestions are GREATLY appreciated! So, come on in, interact, enjoy yourself, and we'll see you on the trail!
