RIM OF THE GAP

12 mile loop, which includes going to Caesars head visitors center. it is about 2/3 way on the trail, restrooms, water are available there, but you will need water/food prior to restocking. this is an awesome hike with lots of water/rock features!

includes rim of the gap, frank coggins, coldsprings branch, jones gap trails.

VERY STRENUOUS! 3000 ft. elevation change. WEAR GOOD TRACTION!! We will keep a brisk pace.

we will depart at 9:10, so please be on time.

be prepared to drive or chip in for gas. it is about a 50 minute drive, there is also a $2 per person parking/entry fee that goes to the park service.

see below for more trail info; you should have RECENT experience at this distance to participate.

I won't make any post-hike plans, just in case.

There's a good Mexican Restaurant in Brevard with cheap beer we could go to after the hike if everybody is interested.

This one's tough, but beautiful and fun. Bring money and you can get an ice cream bar at Caeser's Head, which I remember as the halfway point in miles, but 2/3rds in exertion.
