Inklings August Gathering: The Hobbit (Chapters 1-5)

Step into the world of myth, magic, and meaningful conversation with the Asheville Inklings Book Club, a literary fellowship dedicated to exploring the works of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and their kindred spirits. Inspired by the legendary gatherings at Oxford's Eagle and Child pub, our monthly meetings will blend deep discussion, light-hearted creativity, and a shared love of stories that shape the soul.

This month, we are reading and discussing chapters 1 through 5 of The Hobbit, Or There and Back Again, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Our time together will include a light-hearted creative writing icebreaker related to this month's reading, an open discussion of the reading (with plenty of room for our minds and imaginations to meander where they will), and an opportunity for members to share their writing or other creative projects, optionally, with constructive feedback or simply appreciation!
