Dishoom is in Covent Garden, close to Covent Garden Tube and Leicester Square Tube. It follows the traditions of old fashioned Bombay Cafes. Whether you want just chai and samosas or are going for curry and kulfi to follow, there should be something to tempt you on the menu which looks very unlike other menus in UK Indian eateries. This is what the critics say about Dishoom:
“They’ve got the look spot on… nearly all of the dishes are excellent from traditional Indian grills and curries to Bombay street snacks.” - Guy Dimond, Time Out
“Gorgeously kitsch, fast-paced and with delicious Indian-fusion snacks – what’s not to like about this Bombay-style café.” - Zoe Williams, The Telegraph
“Dishoom is such a fun, modern interpretation of an Indian restaurant…” Nick Lander, FT Weekend
“A modern take on the old Bombay Cafes… Subtly spiced dishes and delectable cocktails…” - Pip McCormac, Sunday Times Style Guide
“Dishoom revives Bombay cafe culture… Bombay’s old Irani cafes are dying a slow death, and the only people doing anything about it are in London.....” - Amana Fontanella-Khan, CNN Mumbai
“Coming here always transports me back to my childhood. Every morsel reminds me of eating my way around the streets of Mumbai.” - Maunika Gowardhan in Red magazine
