Announcing a new Meetup for Vancouver Astronomy Meetup Group!

What: Lunar eclipse watch, Friday June 25 from 9PM, Simon Fraser University!

When: Friday, June 25,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Simon Fraser University
University Dr
Burnaby, BC V5A 1S6
[masked]

We're hosting a lunar eclipse watch, Friday June 25, weather permitting, starting 9PM!

We'll meet at our usual spot on the Simon Fraser University campus, next to the Terry Fox Statue (see our web site for a map with directions), starting at 9PM, and staying as late as we have guests! Full details at:

http://www.sfu.ca/starrynights

Full disclosure: the lunar eclipse is partial, and doesn't actually begin to be noticeable until about 3AM Saturday June 26!

The lunar eclipse is just an excuse to finally try for another star party, with many telescopes expected to be on hand, thanks to SFU students and members of the Vancouver Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

Join us at twilight on Friday June 25 for a gorgeous alignment of three planets! Venus is visible low to the West just after sunset, and forms a line with Mars and Saturn to the East!

A weather update will be posted on the SFU web site, and to this site, during the day on Friday June 25.

Here's to clear skies on the 25th!
