Erlang and Video On Demand

Hugh Watkins has worked at the largest technology companies in the Atlanta area, including Delta Airlines, AT&T (formally BellSouth) and Weather Channel.  Currently he's building advanced video delivery software for Ericsson in their media solution area.  A programming langauge polyglot, he strives to match the correct programming language to the problem domain.

This talk will focus on how Erlang is an ideal fit for high volume, low latency software systems as encountered in large scale video delivery systems.

Great presentation. Lots of practical information. The specific comparisons to Java were very helpful.

Great presentation from Hugh. I wish every management-type who's ever been reluctant to properly consider Erlang could have been there.
