Island Ford Nat'l Recreation Area 9AM Hike

Join us for another North Fulton hike at Island Ford on the Chattahoochee River, which is part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

We will do about a 3 mile hike on this moderate difficulty trail. There are some roots and rocks to step over and some lite grade hills. However, we will stay along the river for most of the hike. So, it is relatively flat.
We will meet near the Hewlett Lodge visitors center at 9AM.
I will be there wearing my red shirt to help you find the meet up.

There is parking at the park near the lodge and overflow just up the drive. There is a five dollar fee for parking in the park, which can be used for entrance to any of the national park locations in the same day. And if you are an annual member of the National Parks, then you are already covered. For those driving GA400 to the park, the Sandy Springs Northridge exit will put you only a few minutes from the park entrance.
We will stay near the river. So, it is a great way to beat the heat :) Also, I plan to stop over at Sandy Springs Diner for lunch after. For anyone interested in checking out this north Fulton mainstay, its about 10min from the park.
