CRBI POLAR PADDLE (Start time is now 11 AM due to weather)

Join The Coosa River Basin Initiative (CRBI), Keep Rome Beautiful and Rome River's E.C.O. Center for this six-mile paddle trip down the Etowah River from Grizzard Park to Heritage Park in Downtown Rome. This trip is suitable for beginners with only a few riffles here and there and nothing beyond CLASS 1.

This is a free event and complimentary canoes and kayaks are available from CRBI on a first-to-register-first-serve basis. Donuts and hot chocolate will be provided along with motorized boats for safety purposes.

Update:
Due to thunderstorms moving through the area this morning, the Polar Bear Paddle has been delayed until 11 a.m.
We will gather at 11 a.m. and should launch on the river by Noon.
Please help us spread the word about this schedule change.
We'll keep the hot chocolate and donuts warm.

Shuttle service will be provided by CRBI at the end of the trip.

RSVP here on AAP to let other members know you are going but you MUST register with CRBI via their website to participate and reserve your complimentary canoe or kayak if appropriate.

Timing change was perfect! We had a cloudless sky for a bit and the temps were perfect too!

The weather in Cherokee County is wild. I will not be able to attend due to the time change to 11 am. Have fun and stay warm.

Hi folks! Looks like we will have a GREAT turnout for Atlanta Area Paddlers at this event! I would like to do a quick group picture and meet and greet with all AAP members at the event at 9:45AM. I will try to make an announcement right before this but please look for the group (or me) if you are there at this time for an opportunity to meet and socialize with your fellow AAP members.
