I was searching for graphic design meetup groups.
I am a designer. My niche/passion is logo and brand identity design and print advertising.
I hold a bachelor's degree in digital media art but will always describe my career stage as student. I still have much to learn about what I love to do. I've designed "on the side" for the last 6 years or so. Recently, I've decided to do what I feel I should have done long ago and that's to become a serious freelance designer and eventually open my own boutique agency.
I've never truly stepped out to involve myself in the creative community. I feel that since I am focused on becoming a full time designer, surrounding myself with people that share the same goals I do and those that are more experienced will definitely fuel my desire to learn more about design and become the best and most well-rounded designer I can be. I am willing to help out and offer my time to the group as much as a father of a two year old and a four year old can help. I certainly don't want to be a wall flower.
I'd probably lead a skills/interests-sharing meeting where designers from different disciplines could have the opportunity to learn a new niche or perhaps learn about issues facing different design roles. I'm sure a print designer and a web programmer could learn much from each other about the worlds they face everyday.
Hi. My name is Chris Nunn. I'm a husband and dad of two, and I'm a self-proclaimed brand identity junkie. I love all things print and type, and I'm eagerly venturing into web. I'd love to step out and befriend others walking the creative path.
