Emerald City does that, but the code being built is from Hartl's RoR tutorial.

It's almost like we need an intermediate meetup for new or inexperienced devs working on a project as Bennett described.

I agree with Sam.  I'm in the same position, and also coming from professional Java development.  I like the idea of being able to work with a team of new comers to ruby, push the code to github, and then get feedback from more experienced mentors.  Maybe the meetup isn't the place for this as some people have said, but maybe there is another outlet for this like the Nerd Club that meets every so often?  Or some other "break out" type of meeting?

I thought the Emerald City submeetup is fulfilling that role?
