Marcelle, God Bless. If we had more people like you this would be a much better country. If  we had more politicians and world leaders like you oh what a wonderful world this would be.
Be well,

Hello Roz:
My heart goes out to Keith and would be willing to help in whatever way possible. I do have an extra bedroom that I think will be quite comfortable.  I am also in the process of preparing a three bedroom home to help others like Keith, the house is finished except for electric and water hookups,  and some furnishings and landscaping.  I have run out of available funds and  pray that God will provide a means before  the end of summer.  I would love to have Keith stay with us (my elderly mother and I)  and would be willing to seek out available resources to help him meet his goals in life.  I live 25 minutes away from Chattanooga and it is very peaceful country, If Keith does not mind, I would love to have him.   I thank God for Jenny and her family for being so faithful to Keith, please let her know that if this works out I would love to have them visit at any time.
On the subject of the Empowerment Celebration for Homeless Mothers, I have quite a bit of clothing and some shoes, please let me know when and where you would like them delivered.

Hello everyone,
I received a letter just recently from one of the volunteers.  I wanted to share this with you to see if you are able to help this young man.  If you can help or know someone who can, please email me and let me know.  Thanks! ~  Roz
Hi Roz, I volunteered with you at Open Hand doing food prep.  I am relatively new to Atlanta and moved here with my husband and children in December.  I used to be a high school teacher in a high poverty school in Charleston, SC.  While there I met Keith.  I learned he had been through some of the most horrendous and unimaginable horrors as a child that no one should experience.  My husband and I have had keith live with us for over a year, helped him for the past three years, and we have taken on extra jobs in order to help him get to where he is now... graduating from one of the best high schools in the whole state of south carolina at the end of this month.  Keith has maintained his part time job for two years, been drug free, and has his own car with proper insurance.  Keiths grandmother is being evicted and he has nowhere to go.  He is trying to get a job with publix so he can transfer and move here to be closer to our family (we have done more for him than his own family).  We live in a tiny apt on peachtree and don't really have adaquate space for him to stay for very long.  I want to try to find a safe environment where keith could live while working to save money to get his own place.  Keith is very poor and he grew up abused and living in extreme poverty.  People make inaccurate assumptions about him because of how he speaks and carries himself.  I know it would be hard for him to find someone who would let him rent a room without knowing him.  He is willing to contribute a small amount towards rent and bills, but ideally I want him to save money.  He will need a place before july in the Atlanta area.  If you know anyone who would maybe be open to a temporary arrangement like this let me know.  He is loyal, honest, dependable and sweet.  He lived with my family for over a year and helped me with my children when they were small.  I think he could save enough to be on his own within three to six months.  I was the 2010 teacher of the year for a child advocacy group and my husband was the counselor of the year for the state od south carolina.  Keith can and is making it out of povery but he needs help.  I will email a few recent pictures of his recent visit to atlanta to see us in feb.  Thank you for any help or guidance you can offer. Jenny
