Job Description:
Director Weather Data Services is primarily responsible for identification of right data stores, ingestion, and
access technologies to store weather data and content. He/she will be responsible for development and support of data services API management stack that include authentication, metering, developers onboarding, and API governance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data cataloging
- Identify right data store technologies for to store weather data and content
- Install and configure selected NoSQL data stores
- Prepare ingestion and access specs for the NoSQL database platform
- Develop ingestion and access APIs
- Develop or select r suitable API management stack that include metering, authentication, and onboarding
- Develop core APIs and push data services
- Capacity planning for data services platform
- Develop monitoring tool to report and alert NoSQL platform performance, job failures, resource usage, and load
- Evangelize NoSQL data platform, tools, and technologies
- Develop or customize and implement job scheduling tool.
- Lead a team of 6- 8 NoSQL professionals
- Develop data quality metrics
- Monitor and report data quality metrics
- Establish and report platform SLAs
- Meet the established SLAs and quality metric targets

Qualifications- 5 + years of architect and developer experience in Riak/Hadoop/ Casandra/ MongoDB/ NoSQL DB environment
- 10+ years of J2EE /C++/Python development experience, especially server side programmingPosting Information
-Experience in implementing API management tools like layer7, WS02, Mashery, 3Scale, etc.
- 3-5 years of MapReduce development experience
-2-3 projects implementation experience of noSQL databases
-Experience in development of software tools for application monitoring and job scheduling
-Experience in development of database drivers
- Experience in development of ingestion APIs (real-time and batch) in NoSQL environment using C/C++ /Java/Python/Flume
- UNIX scripting and SQL
- Data warehouse design patterns
- Written and verbal communication skills- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Team Player
- Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
