Buescher State Park campout

I have made a Saturday night reservation for the Buescher State Park (Lakeview camping area).   I plan arriving at the park by 11am.

Buescher State Park, a scenic area, is 1,016.7 acres just north of Smithville in Bastrop County. Between the years 1933 and 1936, Mr. Emil and Mrs. Elizabeth Buescher originally deeded 318 acres of land to the state. After Emil Buescher's death, his heirs donated 318 more acres. The rest of the park land was acquired from the City of Smithville. The original park totaled 1,738 acres and opened in 1940. Approximately 700 of the acres were later deeded to MD Anderson and UT Cancer Center.

Bring whatever food you want for yourself and feel free to bring something to share if you like.  Campground and trail maps can be found in the files section.

CAMPSITE FEE: $5/Person, payable to me upon rsvp.

ENTRANCE FEE: $4/Person payable at the gate.

PARKING: Parking area close to campsite. There is a limit of 2 vehicles per site, so once again, try to carpool or possibly pay an excess vehicle fee.

SHOWERS/TOILETS:  Restrooms nearby.

KID FRIENDLY: Yes. Please read our policy on camping with children

DOG FRIENDLY: Yes. Pets must be attended and on a six-foot leash at all times. Pets are not allowed in any park buildings, cabins, or shelters. Please read our policy on camping with dogs

RV CAMPING No Pop-ups, Travel Trailers, or Motorhomes allowed in this area. Feel free to reserve your own site in the nearby Oak Haven camping area.

OTHER RULES: No Boating or swimming in the lake. Public consumption or display of an open container of an alcoholic beverage is prohibited. Gathering of firewood is prohibited.

DIRECTIONS: The park is located 2 miles northwest of Smithville. Take State Highway 71 to FM 153; then travel north on 153 for 0.5 miles to enter Park Road 1.

Regarding alcohol, Texas state parks have a policy that "the public consumption or display of alcohol is prohibited". So if you have alcohol (in a non-glass container, of course) then it needs to be on the down low.

I did request a refund from the link provided and stated to let me know if I took my RSVP down or if you did that after the request was granted. There is now no refund link showing so I hope you received the request and will process it. Please let me know. Thanks and I look forward to future events. (-:
