Come join a leisurely hike beginning along the Colorado River in Bastrop and exploring the Colorado River Refuge. There should be wildflowers and usually a variety of wildlife. The hike will be on 4-5 miles of packed dirt paths with a 66-foot level change when we leave the riverbank. We will meet at the Bastrop County Nature Park where there is ample parking, although carpooling is encouraged (the Sierra Club does not arrange carpooling). The trail is generally shaded. Well behaved dogs are welcome, however be aware that the locals view leash laws as optional so there may be unleashed dogs frolicking about. Following the hike, we may go for lunch nearby. You may also want to take a dip in the river (not organized by Sierra Club) depending on the weather.

Participants must sign a Liability Waiver at the trailhead. You may view the waiver document: https://tinyurl.com/SCSignUpSheet2020 .
