Rep. Doggett denied that "Death Panels" were mandated or implied by the healthcare bill he signed, despite the recess appointment of Dr. Death Don Berwick to head Medicare/caid. Doggett also stated unequivocally that he, his family and his staff received and will receive exactly the same care we do under the new Health Care plan. In my view the man is beyond reason. He can't even acknowledge the patently obvious.

I was there and met Doggett. While on line I heard these comments form his liberal supports. From an IRS employee ?This is a rich country all americans deserve free health care?. Easy from him to say, his salry takes away from the private sector. and he?s exempt from Oboma care. Then I heard what brought on the recession was ? The big banks and corporations there greed and bonuses? . The above remarks made my hair hert but the worst was ?so we give up some rights but look what we get? . I?ll tell you get no privacy, someone making discions on weather you get health care using a national database with your BMI, i.e. To fat no care. I can go on and on but the bottom line is terany!! and we all will work and exist for the state. I digress Doggett votes only what the party tells him to my question was I track your voting and you vote yes to everything quote ? I have voted no ?. After a discussion using the comers clues to justerfi and orders coming from the president clearly over stepping his authority. I came away that Dogged is a pupet of the party and does not represent his people. This was setup as a one on one event so he could dump you if it got to tough for him. The most he said to me was we disagree. He has to go I am supporting Dr. Dona Campbell

From the NY Times of 7/16 - Changing Stance, Administration Now Defends Insurance Mandate as a Tax When Congress required most Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, Democrats denied that they were creating a new tax. But in court, the Obama administration and its allies now defend the requirement as an exercise of the government?s ?power to lay and collect taxes.?

I also waited in line and met with Rep. Doggett. My questions were very specific. I introduced myself as an Army veteran of 25 years and he thanked me for my service. I told him that I was deeply concerned that the President and congress are pushing to let the current tax cuts expire. I asked him if he would support not letting the tax cuts expire in January. His reply was that "Bill Gates needs to pay more taxes and that anyone making under $250K a year should not be affected". I asked if he realized that Bill Gates gives more money to charity and foundations for the needy, and that he has recently called upon and met with our nations billionaires, and proposed that they all "give away" half of their wealth to charity. I also told him that Mr. Gates has done more than anyone in congress to actually create jobs and help other people in and outside our nation. His response was again "Bill Gates needs to pay more taxes". I told him he was wrong and that I would rather see Mr. Gates give from his own free will to the needy, than to have him put another dollar into the hands of our government. I also asked Mr. Doggett if he would support a constitutional amendment that would impose term limits upon the congress. His reply was "NO" and that he didn't think that we could fix problems in government by mandating the removal (by term limits) of members of congress. I told him that we need to remove those who have "hung out" in congress for 15, 20, 30, 35 and 40 years...and that we have many other citizens from our 300 million populace that can serve. That we need to limit the time that folks like himself and John McCain can serve in congress. He again thanked me for my service, and said he need to move on... I expected him to say exactly what he said.
