Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

I have been crocheting since I was 9 years old. A friend taught me and I just kept going. I taught myself to knit in my early twenties and ever since I had retired, two years ago, I have improved tremendously. So I guess I have been at it for more than 20 years.

What's your favorite fiber?

I like all kinds but especially the really soft and cool looking colors. My eyes just get wider when I go to Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or even JoAnns.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

I would probably make a hammock to lie on with a few extra pillows and a cool looking blanket tow keep me warm at night.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

I love crocheting and when ever our young teachers announced that they were expecting, my gift to them and their bundle of joy would be a baby afghan instead of a store bought items.

In which part of Austin do you live? (N, NW, Central, S, SW, Lakeway, Cedar Park, etc.)
