Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

My best friend's mother taught me to crochet when I was 10, and my aunt tried to teach me to knit back then, but it didn't stick. I found circular needles in 07 and all of a sudden, knitting was easy. =)

What's your favorite fiber?

Alpaca. I like the softness and my husband always makes Monty Python jokes about llamas.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

A sun shade, a mattress and pillow, and then big ol' banners saying "HELP". Yes, I'm practical.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

It's always something I'll come back to, but my interest drops off if I have projects in other disciplines to work on, or if I'm not watching much tv. =P

In which part of Austin do you live? (N, NW, Central, S, SW, Lakeway, Cedar Park, etc.)

Introduction

I'm Sherry; I've known how to crochet since I was a kid, but only started knitting in early 07 -- I mostly make socks, shawls, and anything else possible with fingering and laceweight yarns.
