Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

I learned very basic stitches from Stitch n' Bitch about 6 years ago. Would like to learn more.

What's your favorite fiber?

Soft wool, I guess. Not sure, but I love Hill Country Weavers, the colors and textures, variety. I don't care for synthetic at all.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

Bedding of every kind: pillows, blankets, throws, curtains. Sounds kind of hot! Maybe a full length body stocking to protect me from the sun. Still, making me hot just to think about it.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

I think I will always knit, especially around the holidays. I want to learn to knit more interesting and fun things. I want to have something to do with my hands when I'm sitting and visiting with people or home alone.

In which part of Austin do you live? (N, NW, Central, S, SW, Lakeway, Cedar Park, etc.)

Introduction

I'd love to learn more than is required to make a basic scarf :-) Enjoy working with my hands and the conversations that happen when we have our primary focus on something else.
