Share a booth at a craft show?

Several of us at The Dig Pub discussed going in on one booth at a smallish craft show this spring. This would give anyone who has just a few items a chance to sell them--and time to make some pieces. The idea is that everyone would chip in on the booth cost and work the show, too. Each crafter's work would be tagged so we could easily keep track of who sold what for how much. I crunched some numbers. These options are based on $180-220 on a booth with rentals, 1-2 days of the show, and 3 people working at all times so no one is alone. The "sweet spot" is 12-18 people (everyone works a half-day) and ~$15 each (depending largely on booth costs). If there is enough interest, we'll have some kind of signup. If not, maybe we'll try again in a year or two... If you have ideas/questions/etc, feel free to email me. -Lori Luza

Are you up for an Austin K & C Meetup Holiday get together/party?

The holidays are fast approaching. We have had holiday gatherings in the past, so this is to gauge serious interest in one for 2009. In past years, we've done this on a Sunday, and folks have brought their spinning wheels, drop spindles, and current projects plus their latest finished objects for show and tell, as well as a dish to share, or a big batch of cookies and a bunch of copies of the recipe. What do you want to do?

Would you be interested in a Meetup in Pflugerville?

A coffee shop owner in Pflugerville has contacted us asking if we'd like to meet at his place. I'd like to gauge interest in starting one there.

What date is best for you for our next YARN CRAWL?

It's been awhile since our last Yarn Crawl! This is a great time to take stock of what you would like to make for holiday gifts & lay in yarn and supplies .... and start knitting them. So get your list together, and take advantage of summertime yarn sales that seem to be everywhere! Be forewarned: THIS IS A GOING TO BE A LONG DAY. We need to leave by 6 a.m., -- and probably won't get back before 7:30 p.m Saturday. We'll cover almost 400 miles! That's a lot of fun knitting and social time while driving, too! This crawl will be taking us to points east: Yarntopia Houston, TX Yarns 2 Ewe Houston, TX The Hen House Spring, TX Yarnorama Paige, TX **Please participate in this poll only if you are seriously considering the trip** Estimated cost per person for van rental, tolls, gas: $25-30 pp -- Gas has risen significantly since our last crawl, so this is a ballpark guess. Our costs could be lower -- or higher.
