Hi Bill, what part of NW Austin? Is the company you work at open to host meetup events on the evenings?

Hi guys, I agree, all future discussion will be at the following discussion thread:

For the record, I didn't agree to leaching at the Tech Shop on Feb 7. The reason is because I'm a South Austin resident, and Round Rock is too north for me. It would alienate all South Austin attendees, and that includes me.

For whomever is starting/organizing the forthcoming Intro to Python Meetup (Ed or Wilson?), would you mind starting a new discussion thread? Things are getting really confusing. A fresh discussion thread would help bring clarity to those interested in attending (like myself). :)

Thanks!

Hi Wilson,

Thank you for letting me know. Yes, there would be a cost associated with our venue. That is amazing that you have free venues! If you ever need anything in the future, do not hesitate to reach out.

All my best,

Carrie

Thanks Carrie,
We are a strictly volunteer non-profit group. We have a few free locations narrowed down.
Is there a cost associated with this offer?

Hi Carrie,

We want this "Course" , location and time , to be a full group ordination/agreement.
Thank you for offering the location. Could you please post the address so we can also have discussions on that. I tried to research on your signature website, however, I don't want to assume.

Thanks

Hey guys, I'm down to run an informal, unofficial meetup to learn Python in 2 or 3 weeks. I need help securing a room for the meeting, with internet good for many people and a projector or screens to display examples. Historically, the meetup occurs on Mondays, but I'm ok with other days as well. I want the meeting to be more hands-on, which is why we need good internet.

To respect the true organizers, and the way previous meetups were formatted, this meeting won't follow a book closely, but we can talk about topics in the books. My plan is to do an install party of Python, and then after, we will go through a piece of code that I picked out, line-by-line if we have to. After that, we will talk more about Python or go through more code examples. There might be homework for you guys :)

Lastly, even though I have experience with Python, I'm learning along with you guys, so forgive me if you end up stumping me, and I have to consult a search engine. I've heard and read that teaching is a great way to learn and master a subject, so that is why I'm teaching you guys.
