    The La Mesa Library is proud to present an Autism-Friendly playtime event every first Sunday of the month. The library staff provide a friendly, judgement-free experience in their lovely space with a variety of sensory and educational activities. All families are welcome to enjoy and explore the library an hour before it opens to the public every month - we hope you can join us! *Please note this is a family event best suited for children ages 3-10. Individuals without children will not be granted entry until the library opens for its public hours. We appreciate your understanding!

  • Lights! Camera! Autism! SAVE THE DATE!!!!

    Lights! Camera! Autism! A film and art event will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020. The event includes an art exhibition by local autistic artists. There will be a musical performance by an autistic musician. Included in the event will be a beer, wine and appetizer reception. The film portion of the evening will highlight "Autism in Animation". The Autism Society San Diego is proud to announce we will be showing Pixar Animation SparkShorts films, Loop and Float, two films featuring autistic characters. The producer, directors, animator and the children who were the inspiration for the films will be our special guests. We will also be featuring Archie Comics character, Scarlet, who is a teen girl on the spectrum. Nancy Silberkleit, CEO of Archie Comics will be our guest to share with us about Scarlet and her impact. More details and how to buy tickets will be announced in the near future. Stay tuned!
