This Meetup is great for anyone who wants to start a walking program, make new friends, improve your fitness level gently, and get outside! Walking is a low-risk and easy way to start getting healthy and to maintain health. It can help keep you fit and reduce your risk of serious health conditions, like heart disease, stroke, diabetes and more.
A regular walking program can also:
• Strengthen your core
• Lower blood pressure
• Increase your energy and stamina
• Boost “couch potato” bone strength
• Prevent weight gain
AND: Improve your mood and sense of accomplishment!

This group is great for beginners, as well as more experienced walkers.
Distance ranges from approx 1 mi each way, to as far as 5 miles... but walkers can join or leave the group at any point along the route.
We often stop for brunch after the walk, at one of several restaurants along the route (no host...). It's a great way to get to know your fellow walkers, but is not mandatory.
NOTE: Weather matters...In the Summer, we start at 8am. In the Winter, we start at 9am. We will be on hiatus during the hottest and the coldest months; and rain or extreme windy-ness will be stay-at-home days.
If you prefer to walk starting at 8am all year round, please let me know, and we can schedule 2 walks on Saturdays.
