Founded in 2011, the Asian Women's Club of Lakewood Ranch (AWCLWR) welcomes new members from Lakewood Ranch as well as surrounding communities (Sarasota, Bradenton, Palmetto, Ellenton, Parish). Women who are professionals, retirees, single, married, who are of Asian descent and/or interested in Asian culture and camaraderie are invited to join AWCLWR. Our club's mission is to make a positive difference in our members' lives and the community we live in by making friends, enhancing diversity, creating more awareness of our Asian heritage, tradition, culture, food, art, music, and most of all from our fundraising efforts to help those in need in our community.

As of December 2015, we are proud to have up to 30 members who hail from the Philippines, China, India, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, South Korea, and are living in Manatee and Sarasota counties. Since 2011, our annual fundraising efforts have benefited the Food Bank of Manatee County, victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, and scholarship awards to well-deserving college students at State College of Florida. After our monthly AWCLWR meetings, educational presentations hosted by members or invited guest speakers are open to family, friends, and the public. Presentations have included such topics as Feng Shui, Acupuncture, Qigong, Cancer, Memory Loss, Brain and Heart Connection, Asian cultures, and financial planning education.

As a newer non-profit organization, AWCLWR seeks members who want to become involved as Board members, committee chairs, and event leaders.
