Run-Walk & Stairs in Aventura!

• It's time to prepare for summer and cultivate a healthier lifestyle. This exercise trail is beautiful and heavily populated. We can comfortably Run, Walk, Roller blade or Cycle. Pets are okay on a 6 foot or less leash. The plan for Tuesday will be:

• Meet at Aventura mall parking lot across from the exercise trail @ 6:30pm**

• Stretch for about 10 minutes till 6:40pm**

• Climb the stairs of the Parking garage(4 Flights), up & down for about 15 minutes till 6:55pm**

• Meet back at the first parking lot & Cross to the trail as a group.

• 7:00pm Start the 3 mile trail or 6 miles if you do it twice!

• Please bring WATER and a stop watch, wrist watch OR your phone so you can track your personal progress. Make a goal and work towards it. Most runners may have their personal goals already but for those of you who don't, for the 3 miles you can try:

• Runners can aim anywhere from 18-36 minutes (Which is 6-12min miles)

• Run-walkers (myself) can push for 30-48 minutes (Which is 10-16min miles)

• Walkers can get it done in under a hour! Aim for 42-59 min (Which is 14-19.7min miles)

• When it's all over post your results to the event comments on meetup and continue to track your progress. (Not required but encouraged)

• Remember breaks are OK, but make them useful. Instead of hunching over and panting for air, do 10 SQUATS or LUNGES and CONTROL YOUR BREATHING.

• The 3.1 mile exercise path circling the Turnberry Isle Resort Golf Course along Country Club Drive is a popular location to walk, run, jog, rollerblade and bike. The Trail consists of a 10-foot wide paved ADA accessible path, landscaped with an abundance of shade trees complete with ground lighting, benches, chilled water fountains, trash receptacles and crosswalks. Convenient bags and receptacles are available from dispenser boxes along the path for residents enjoying the Trail with their pets, who are allowed on the path so long as they are on a leash 6’ or less. The City provides chilled water fountains and low level lighting.
