Welcome to the group.
Do you consider yourself an objectivist and, if so, why?

Hello all. My name is Adam Matthews and I've recently become a member of the NYC Ayn Rand meetup group. I think it's great that this group is so active and I'd love to attend one of the meetings. How many people usually show for each get together and what topics are discussed?
-A little more about me - I'm an independent author and avid reader of Ayn Rand's collective works. I also enjoy science fiction and fantasy books. I recently released my debut novel, The Sword of Solonus, as an ebook on Kindle. The book is among other things, a concerted effort to fuse the ideas of Ayn Rand with the settings and characters typical of authors like JRR Tolkien. Or in other words, it's Atlas Shrugged vs. Lord of the Rings. This may seem like a shameful self promotion (is there such a thing in objectivism?), but more than anything, I'd really like to have the book evaluated/reviewed by other objectivists or people familiar with Ayn's ideas and her ethics of rational self interest. I really believe it could possibly be the next great (or good) objectivist fiction novel. Would any of you be interested in buying a copy off Amazon and letting me know what you think or posting a review? I'm only charging $2.99 for it.
In any case, I think it would be great if the group took to discussing a new fiction novel since there hasn't been one that is compatible with Objectivist ethics in so long. Well, if you are interested, check out the Sword of Solonus by me, Adam Matthews and let me know what you think.
Thanks. Here's a direct link to the book in case you can't find it:
