New Meetup: POTENTIAL 4x4 trip....

Announcing a new Meetup for AZ Shutterbugs West!

What: POTENTIAL 4x4 trip....

When: Saturday, August 14,[masked]:00 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

This is still a big maybe, but I wanted to give people a chance to plan for it and see if the interest here would match the available seats in the trucks that are going (trucks still signing up too). RSVP knowing that the exact details may change, or I might have to cancel if there are too few trucks. But please do RSVP if you are interested and will be able to go on this day. I need to get a head count...

That being said, we are planning to drive the back road from Lake Pleasant to Crown King for lunch. After that (and assuming we get to lunch on time), we will most likely drive in to the Desoto Mine. The road starts out hot by the lake, but we will try and hit it as early as possible, and it does rapidly climb to cooler temperatures in the pines and canyons of the higher elevations. The back road can be very dramatic, but for those who don't wish to ride the excitement, there are bypasses at all the major obstacles. There are also some scenic areas all long the trail as the views get bigger and bigger. At the mine, I understand there is still some ruins and equipment left that is interesting, though it will be my first time at this particular one. It will be a long day, but there should be plenty of opportunity for most types of photography from action of the big trucks at play, to beautiful scenery, to little details and everything in between. Any questions, feel free to ask them through here or call me at (602)[masked] any time. Keep a look out though for more details as things firm up over the next week or so.
