Live Bats! (A Purchase Your Own Ticket Event)

  • This location is shown only to members

Did you know bats serve as important pollinators of many food plants as well as provide useful aids for medical research, particularly for the blind?  Bats are the only major predator of night-flying insects.  Bat prey on mosquitos, cockroaches, gnats and lacewings as their major food source.  A single Big brown bat can eat between 3,000 and 7,000 mosquitos in a night with large populations of bats consuming thousands of tons of potentially harmful forest and agricultural pests annuals.

Live Bats returns to Denver! Rob Mies, director of the Organization for Bat Conservation, introduces you to an international delegation of some of the rarest bats in the world, including a gigantic flying fox bat from Malaysia with a nearly six-foot wingspan. This is an adults-only event. This is a sell-out every year, so get your ticket now!  Cost is $15 for non-members and $12 for members.

Must buy a ticket to attend.  Get tickets here... http://secure1.dmns.org/products/795-live-bats-adults-only.aspx

Enter through the West Atrium and get in line to enter the auditorium.  We'll try to sit as a group towards the front so we have a good view of the stage and bats.

Optional Refreshment after the program at a nearby restaurant.  Meet the group outside in front of the west doors.

See you there!

Good presentation & adorable bats. Surprised how much science does not know about bats yet. Hope we find out. I will feel much closer to the bats that swoop past my 8th floor balcony...& I won't have to protect my hair!

The carbon monoxide alarm is going off at my house. I will not be able to attend tonight. There should be a ticket under my name at will call.

I probably will not be able to attend unless I have a break in my cold. However, I do have a ticket if anyone wants to buy it.

I bought a ticket on line. Anyone know if I'll get a ticket in the mail or do I just pick it up at will call? I did not get a ticket to print out.

I bought tickets online also. I'm told you can print them at home starting in October. Otherwise, you can stop by the museum, if you're in the area, and pick them up at the kiosk or will call. I'm at the museum so just printed mine at the kiosk with my confirmation number.

I got my ticket as well. Just take your confirmation number and either get your ticket at the counter or the kiosk. It is very easy.
