Another snowshoe to fill the time before the Romp to Stomp on Saturday. If you're in the area and want to join us, please do!
The North Tenmile Creek Trail is an easy/moderate 6-7 mile round trip trail leading to the Eagles Nest Wilderness with around 850+ feet of elevation gain. After a few miles the trail reaches a junction with the Gore Range Trail. This will be the turnaround point, unless we get tired and decide to turn around earlier. The first part of the trail climbs and then levels off to provide a pleasant stroll through an aspen-pine forest with the North Tenmile Creek always on the left. Off to the southwest you'll see glimpses of the Gore Range and Uneva Peak in the distance. Dogs are allowed on leash.
Directions to the Trailhead: Take I-70 west to Frisco and exit 201. Turn right into the parking lot as you exit where you will see the clearly marked trailhead.
Carpooling: Some of us will already be in Frisco for the Romp to Stomp and will meet you at the trailhead. If you're carpooling, meet at 8:30am at the Wooly Mammoth Parking Lot, Section CC where you can form carpools. Parking lot located off Interstate 70 West and Exit 259.
Optional Lunch after the snowshoe at a downtown Frisco restaurant.
