Who We Are:
We are wine enthusiasts in the central Ohio area who may also be part of the Ohio Chapter of the International Bacchus Society. We are not limited solely to the Dublin area, and our group hosts events all over central Ohio. We are called "The Dublin Wine Meetup Group" simply because I live in Dublin and started the group with a few Dublin locals 13 years ago. We now have members all over the city and in surrounding areas all over Ohio.

Founded in November 2006, we have now have over 920 members, and have had over 160 meetings with an average rating of 4.85 out of 5. Join us to meet fellow Wine Enthusiasts near you! We have an even mix of married couples and singles.

Anyone who loves wine is welcome to join our group. No invitation needed.

Come to one of our local Wine Meetups to taste new wines; learn about attributes of wine; and discuss different vintages and estates. Everyone is welcome, from wine novices to educated connoisseurs (we have an even balance). We have a master sommelier in our group.

This meetup is also for individuals who would like to learn more about or join the Ohio Bacchus Society. The Bacchus Society is a philanthropic organization dedicated to promoting the enjoyment and understanding of wines, gourmet food, travel and entertainment. Our events, which are held throughout Central Ohio, are fun and accessible. There is no cost to join the Bacchus Society.

Dues: We have a suggested $15 per person dues per year for members of our group to help cover the Meetup administrative fees of approximately $360 per year, and the balance of which goes to our supported charities (http://www.meetup.com/bacchus/money/). Historically, about 10% of our members have opted to pay dues. If you prefer, you can also give me a check or cash at one of our meetups and we well receive 100% of your dues. Message me and I'll send you the mailing address if you prefer to pay this way.

You do NOT need to pay dues for your guests (unless the guest wants to become a member himself or herself).

If the suggested $15 per year dues are a problem, you can help organize two meetings per year (http://files.meetup.com/357807/Organizing_Group_Events.pdf) (a few hours' work) at local restaurants or other venues. I do need help in this area and will make you an assistant organizer! If you organize the meeting, you will need to be there to meet and greet people. No expenses are involved on your part.

Charities:
All proceeds collected above the $360 Meetup.com fees will go to our selected charities. Currently (and subject to change) they are:

When your annual dues are collected, you can designate to which charity the proceeds will be directed, and I'll assure it will be done. If you don't designate, we will divide the donations between the two charities. As a member, you can suggest new charities for our group.

Thanks for your participation in our group. Over the last 13 years we have contributed over $20,000.00 to our selected charities. We are doing more than just gathering on a monthly basis and having fun and making new friends. We are making a difference in the lives of many folks served by our selected charities.

Thursday is Share a bottle night at Annie’s Wine Cottage. Each person will Purchase a bottle from Annie’s Wine cottage (in the $20 price range) to share with the group. Retail bottle discounts and special prices will be available. We need 8 CONFIRMED guests (not including Ann at Annie's Wine Cottage, and myself - to make this happen) If there are 10 to 14 CONFIRMED attendees, I’ll bring a small pan of eggplant Parmesan, fresh baked bread with butter, and salad with tomatoes, green beans and homemade spaghetti. Moretti’s make some of the best eggplant Parmesan on the planet. If there are 14-20 CONFIRMED guests I’ll add a pan of their famous lasagna **** PLEASE NOTE: If there are 8 or less attendees (10 or less including Anne and myself), I will have to cancel, as this is a fundraiser and I lose money at this point. Saturday, January 5,[masked] for $15 Wine Tasting at The Hills Market (off 315 North) in Worthington | 6-9pm Join the Hills Market Wine Experts for this fun monthly event. $15 at the door gets you 10 tickets to trade for wine samples that you choose from 30 available selections. There will also be delicious hors d'oeuvres prepared by The Hills Market chefs. Bring your friends and neighbors and come on down to sip, snack, and socialize while you peruse the store. Reservations are not required for this event. You will pay Hills Market directly at the register, as you walk in. Ticket sales end at 8:30 pm. Join the Hilliard Wine Club members at the Rusty Bucket (just a few doors down) after the tasting. This is a walk around event and it can be difficult to find our wine club members.
