David Sheldon-Hicks and Ryan Rafferty-Phelan from Territory Studio will take you behind the scenes of their motion graphics and VFX work for science fiction films Ghost in the Shell, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ex-Machina, Prometheus and Miles. Sharing insights and learnings, they will get into the details of the studio’s approach to design concepts for near and future technology, and talk about how their work straddles Art and VFX.

This is the second year we’ve been part of Flatpack and we’re delighted to have Territory Studios up to talk. Much like last year, we wanted to put on a talk from creatives involved in the film industry, giving insights into their creative process and how they got involved in film.

More on Flatpack Festival

Flatpack Festival
4th - 9th April 2017

Since 2006 Flatpack has been lighting up Birmingham every spring, with one-of-a-kind events and screenings to be found in spaces across the city. They use a pretty broad definition of film, and although every edition is different there’s a good chance that contents will include live soundtracks, animation, documentary, ground-breaking shorts, virtual reality, weird films for kids, archive gems and plenty more besides.

Flatpack no.11 runs from 4-9 April 2017, and will mainly take place in the city centre and Southside. The festival has been described by impartial observers as “the best week of the year to be in Birmingham”, and who are we to disagree?
