This group is for those who want to learn to do ballroom dancing, improve their existing skills or want to revise what they did many years ago. We meet every Sunday at 5 pm. We do lessons for beginners (upstairs) at 5 pm, improvers (upstairs) at 7 pm, a technique class for intermediates at 5 pm (downstairs) , and a new moves class for intermediates (downstairs) from 7 pm. We do social dancing every Sunday from 8 pm to 10.30 pm to which outsiders and students from other schools are welcome. Entry to the class and social is £6 or the social only £5.
We especially welcome experienced dancers. We encourage our students to mix and change partners during the classes and the social dancing
We are five minutes walk from Colliers Wood station, or there's a large car park behind the building if you travel by car. We manage to just about keep balanced numbers in leaders/followers and single dancers are welcome. My name is George Tudor-Hart and you can e-mail me at
Cost is just £6 for the whole evening, or £15 for four consecutive weeks, or £25 for ten consecutive weeks
The dances we cover are slow waltz, ballroom tango, quickstep, slow foxtrot, rumba, jive, cha cha, Viennese waltz, samba and salsa. Our classes are about how to achieve good posture, how to move, follow and lead with style and elegance, not just to memorise steps and routines.
