May's book is "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn." In the novel, the Nolan family buys most of their groceries from the neighborhood Jewish grocers, and a "special occasion" means a trip to a Chinese restaurant. Our June Book is "Irish Girl" by Tim Johnston. This book won the Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Short Fiction and was recommended by author and NPR commentator David Sedaris.
