Although Mitch is a founder of Joomla, he's more involved now in the Lithium PHP framework and would like to talk and share his experience using Lithium+MongoDB to launch a private sale site called

Mitch Pirtle is currently CTO at, a private sale site catering to moms of small kids. Mitch's high-energy approach, backed by decades of experience, will provide you with inside knowledge you simply can't find anywhere else.

A serial entrepreneur, Mitch wins the unofficial "Founder's Award" from the CMS Association. When you read his history, you'll get a taste of what that means:

After serving as a Core Developer for Mambo CMS (and Lead Web Developer for The N/MTV Networks, he helped Co-Found Joomla! and its not-for-profit organization, Open Source Matters. He is the Founder and CEO of Spacemonkey Laboratories; Co-Founder of Ivivio; Founder of Buzzwerks Inc; Co-Founder of Jetsetter for Gilt Groupe. He has also been the Vice President of Developer Relations at New York-based KickApps Corporation.

Mitch has planted many seeds along his entrepreneurial path, and he's also set an example for others to follow by nurturing those efforts into fully blossomed businesses and organizations, employing and engaging millions of active participants in the communities he helped establish and grow.

We are meeting in our normal location, at our normal time. Pizza and soda are provided by OmniTI (Thank you!). Come hungry with your PHP hats on. Bring a friend that's interested in PHP or someone looking to learn more. The more the merrier. We?ll continue our conversation at PubDog in Columbia for a few drinks afterwards.

The doors open @ 6:30. Mitch's talk will begin around 7:00. 6:30 - 7:00 is for pizza consumption, networking, and socializing. Do you have some code you'd like to get some feedback on? Bring it along with you! Our next quarterly code review will be at the December group meeting (Dec 15). Please send your code in advance to [address removed]

Please be sure to RSVP so we don't order too little (or too much) pizza!

SWAG ALERT: 10gen (Developers and Supports of MongoDB) have donated a generous amount of swag for this meetup! Make sure you stop by to get some!
