Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to update everyone on summer Basset activities so you don’t miss out on anything.

June 22nd Basset Fun Day is Basset Rescue of Puget Sound’s biggest fund raiser of the year, and great fun for Basset’s and their humans. It is going to be at the Academy of Canine Behavior in Bothell ( There will be food, games and Basset costume contest and raffles galore. It is family fun at its best. Also if you are interested in volunteering for set up or take down please send me an email, help is always needed.

July 4th- Ocean Park Wa 4th of July Parade if you are interested in a road trip this 4th of July please join us in Ocean Park on the beautiful Washington coast. Every year we walk in the July 4th parade with the Bassets representing all things Basset such as Rescue and Meet Up. It is a small town family parade and they LOVE the Bassets there. Long Beach has a wonderful fireworks show on the beach July 4th. There are hotels (I recommend the Adrift Hotel since they have a resident Basset) and camping available up and down the peninsula. You can to for more info. I will be having an afternoon BBQ at my house down in Long Beach on the 4th after the parade. Please let me know if you would like to come if you are down there.

July 21st –Oregon Basset Hound Rescue Basset Hound Games. Mark Sunday July 21st on your calendar if you feel like a trip to the Portland area. This fun filled day is all about Basset Games and it is a blast! Held in Legion Park in Woodburn, Oregon, it is a fun relaxing time, bring your lawn chairs, a cooler with your favoritefood & beverage and join in the games. There is lodging in the area that will accept the Bassets. I will update our page as soon as I get more info. You can also check out their Facebook page!/pages/Oregon-Basset-Hound-Games/[masked]?fref=ts

August 10th The Basset Bash. This year the Bash has moved along with the other Woodinville events that were held in April to August 10th. This event has been going on for 20 plus years and is a must for Basset owners and lovers. There are many contests after the parade through downtown Woodinville. More info as the event gets closer.

August 14th Seascare Parade in Brier, WA. This is another fun parade that the loves the Basset’s. This yearly parade which is held in Brier  has a pirate theme and is really big for such a small town. Basset Rescue of Puget Sound and Meet Up will host a booth after the parade. It is an evening of fun with a parade, food, vendors and an outdoor movie. Dress your Hounds up and come walk with us.

That wraps up our summer activities. Don’t forget our Halloween Party in October.

I am also looking for a couple more Assistant Organizers to help with Meet Ups One for the south end and one from the Seattle area. If you are interested please email me.
