Stevens Creek, Lexington Reservoirs, Half Moon Bay? Harbor?

I have an inflatable kayak (Innova Safari) that has been in the water briefly twice. Any interest in kayaking the above calm waters? Rentals are not available at Lex.

Rentals are available at Half Moon Bay Kayak Co. They allow dogs on kayaks if you would like to bring your best friend(s). Doggy life jackets are provided for free as well.

Advance reservation is highly recommended. Please contact at[masked] or [masked] for your reservation. First-come-first-serve basis.

Please google Half Moon Bay Kayak Co. as they occasionally post groupon deals.

Wondering if tides, wind, etc. will be a factor...also, the exact (or close to it) launch site. Thank you!

Meeting point and launch location will be at the HMB Kayak Co. rental booth. I've already reserved my kayak.

Hi Everyone, I recently joined the group. I meant to make a suggestion but this turned in to a "real" event. Unfortunately I can't remove the date as I don't have an appropriate permission. I truly apologize for the inconvenience and confusion. I'll be kayaking on the 4th at 3pm and am bringing my dog (black boxer/lab mix) just in case anyone can or would like to join us. Thank you and hope to meet you all soon.
    Sincerely,
    Mia

Sac Paddle Pushers will be paddling Pillar Point in HMB on March 16th. We're renting a home (is full) and plan to paddle in the morning, will put-in around 9am, then again for a sunset paddle around 7pm. Come join us if you would like.

BTW, there are two rental places: Half Moon Bay Kayaks (I think that's their name) and California Canoe & Kayak (same guys as in Sac'to). That's actually Princeton, not HMB. Some good restaurants, nice hiking on the point or beaches, good surfing and possibly even Maverick's surfing contest that late! If the tide's out you can often pick mussels fresh off the rocks off Pillar Point. Coastal bike trail if that's your other thing too.

~Thanks Bart; we've a full agenda for the weekend and will be there rain or shine. We do plan to hike on Friday afternoon, check out the event on SPP for full details. After a chat with the harbor patrol, March can be a beautiful time to paddle and there's a lagoon outside the harbor we may shoot for.

Would be interested in HMB, Pillar Point inner harbor. Just say when.

I've been kayaking in Half Moon Bay, in the harbor. Two thumbs up. (Rentals available) Safe, sheltered water. Fun to paddle around the moored boats. And some good places for food afterwards. Any location is worth exploring, but I'd like to plan on a SUNDAY - as I work Saturdays. For inflatable - Early in the day is best, before wind buids.

I'm interested in Stevens Creek or Lexington depending on the date. Also, it looks like they will be open for weekends/holidays during the off season this year.

The "?" should not be between "Bay" and "Harbor." The inner harbor at HMB is Pillar Point. I was just offering some suggestions for places that are nearby and at my modest skill level. I've heard good things about Loch Lomond in Felton,  too, although that is further away.

The reservoirs have the various charges for kayak inspection, parking, launching. I was there twice at 9 AM for crew class when the wind had picked up-15 mph. Steven's Creek has rentals. What do people prefer?

    Hi Candice,

Not sure what "Harbor" is, but Lexington and Half Moon Bay are of interest to me and probably Jenny, my paddling buddy. We'll probably host something down here on Elkhorn Slough during the summer sometime, so that might be an opportunity for you, too. Best regards,
    John
