Tired of having to drive to beer in the south bay? Join us for a pub crawl on Caltrain as we visit some old and new beer spots along the tracks.
We’ll meet up at Steak Out (http://steakout.us/) just down Castro from the Mountain View station at 11:30 for lunch (optional) and beer. Steak Out has a great beer garden atmosphere, a diverse tap list, and is renowned for their tasty 100% grass-fed beef burgers.
Around 1:00 we’ll leave for the second stop, The Rose and Crown (http://www.roseandcrownpa.com/), a classic English Pub in Palo Alto.
Third stop is San Carlos, where we’ll hit the Belgian beer bar The Refuge (http://refugesc.com/) and the great craft beer bar Ale Arsenal (http://www.alearsenal.com/), which are conveniently located next door to each other. We’ll finish up there in time to catch the train back at 5.
Updated: specials at Ale Arsenal! To welcome the group and introduce us to their great beer selection, Ale Arsenal is offering two specials exclusively to the BABS meetup.
$14 flights: four 6 oz. pours of any beers on tap (normally, some beers are an extra charge) $7 for two half pints/half tulips ($1 off) Don’t miss the excitement (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF8PCCWbdt4) of Caltrain and the inaugural BABS south bay pub crawl!
