Be a Part of Something Extraordinary: Join Team Rodchata and Take Your Bachata Skills to New Heights!
Imagine being a member of the first-ever bachata team formed in the Bay Area, back in 2006, led by the renowned Rodney Aquino himself. Team Rodchata has been instrumental in promoting and teaching bachata globally when this captivating dance style was relatively unknown. Now, we invite you to join our unique dance team and embark on a transformative journey.
Joining a dance company is essential for several reasons. Many individuals may feel hesitant or intimidated when considering joining a dance team, especially if they have never been part of a dance training program before. To clarify, the distinction lies in the fact that while a 12-week training course can offer benefits, it is limited in duration and may not fully capture technique execution and perfection. On the other hand, a dance company offers a structured curriculum, a well-defined syllabus, and long-term training progression, which extends beyond the scope of a brief 12-week program. Sometimes, we emphasize "prioritazion" on certain dance members that needs special concentrated training on certain movements.
Team training typically encompasses four key areas:
- Fundamentals, encompassing essential steps, movements, music, and timing
- Forms, which includes the development of 30 to 35 forms, as well as steps and footwork syllabus, aimed at enhancing dance partnering skills, connection, and footwork
c) Choreography, an integral aspect of dance partnering, enhancing precision of movement, teamwork, and timing
d) Freestyle, focusing on teaching social dancing and the concept of dance partnering without a predetermined script.
Moreover, aside from these technical aspects, dance team training fosters the development of friendship and camaraderie among members, emphasizing teamwork and appreciating the value of team playing. To us in Team Rodchata, once a Rodchatero always a Rodchatero.
