What: Multi Pitch Techniques Class presented by the Outdoor Adventure Club

When: September 13,[masked]:00 AM

Price: $99.00 per person

Castle Rock SP
15000 Skyline Blvd
Los Gatos, CA[masked]

Our friends at the Outdoor Adventure Club offer various climbing safety classes that are conducted in the Bay Area. These are formal classes with professional trained AMGA guides. As such, these are not free events but highly recommended for brushing up or learning new skills to climb safely. They have generously offered up OAC member prices for Meetup members. Read the details below but for any additional questions regarding this class and other OAC classes, please contact Richard at [address removed].

Class information:
You've learned to lead, and now you're ready to tackle the next step in climbing. Multi-pitch climbing. The professional climbing guides of the Outdoor Adventure Club will show you the way to take this next step armed with the best modern techniques to maximize your climbing efficiency and fun, while managing the risks involved.

As with all our climbing courses this is a hands on day. This isn't just a demonstration- you'll get a chance to practice each technique outlined in the course.

This is a full day class. Outdoor Adventure Club guides aren't watching the clock. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your day, and we routinely stay on the rock later than any other guide service or school in the bay area. The combination of our guides' training and their commitment to your day makes the Outdoor Adventure Club the best value for your climbing education.

What you'll learn:

* Multi-directional anchors for multi pitch climbing
* Tethering yourself and your partner to an anchor
* Belaying a follower from above- Including using a Munter Hitch or auto blocking device such as an ATC Guide
* Rope management at belay stations
* Efficient leader changes
* Multi pitch rappel techniques
* An introduction to self-rescue techniques
* Several tips and tricks to make your climbing more efficient

What's provided:
*A full day of instruction from an AMGA or MLTE trained guide
*All the climbing gear and equipment necessary for the course

Technically, there are no prerequisites for this class, other than a basic ability to belay. Climbers who have anchoring and some lead climbing experience, either indoors or outside will most likely find the material easier to digest, though.

Things to bring:
*We provide all climbing gear necessary for the course. You are welcome to bring your own harness, shoes and helmet if you wish.
*lunch and water for the day
*Dress in layers. Castle Rock can be sweltering or chilly
*A notebook and pen

$99 for OAC members and Meetup members (To get the discounted price, RSVP through meetup, and I will contact you)
$119 for non-members
