Saturday Morning Pitch & Putt at Kensington Park

Come join the BCGolfPages Meetup Group for some golf and socializing!  We will do our best to host bi-weekly Meetups Saturday mornings at Kensington Pitch and Putt in Burnaby.

Pitch and Putt is ideal for beginner golfers, so if you are new to golf come on out!

Pitch and Putt is also great way for the seasoned golfer to sharpen his/her short game. Did you know that whether you shoot 72, 92 or 122; Sixty five percent of your shots will come from 100 yards or less? Pitch and Putt is essential to becoming a better player and taking your game to the next level.

These meet-ups are non-competitive and the emphasis is on fun and meeting other golfers but hopefully we can all get a little better at golf as well.

After each round we will have a social gathering at a local pub or restaurant for those that are interested.

Should the round be rained out, we will still usually meet up at Kensington and then convoy over to the driving range at Burnaby Mountain to hit a bucket of balls . . . remember to check the comments section at about 9am the morning of the round for any updates or changes, and so you know whether to bring your driving range clubs along or not!  :-D

Just a reminder that Kensington DOES NOT ALLOW FULL SIZED GOLF BAGS or GOLF BAGS ON WHEELS OR CARTS.

Cost:

Off Season - about $9.50 (usually ends in May . . . usually)

Peak Season - about $12.50 (usually ends in December . . . usually)

Notes:  There is a Loyalty Card Program available at this course.  Buy a $100 card and they charge it up with $110.  This card is also good to pay for golf at ANY other City of Burnaby golf course!

Wow you guys we really missed out today. Golf would have been free and as usual the weather up here on this hill is fantastic, better than everywhere else in town. It is dry, the sun is peeking through the clouds . . . it's a perfect spring morning for golf. Oh well, next time I guess.

Ok so here's the scoop . . . No one is picking up at Kensington so either they are late, or they won't open up the cashier and club rentals today. That means we might be able to play for free, or if the weather is really bad there, we will meet at the cashier and then convoy over to the driving range. I am heading out now. If you are interested in playing the round or hitting the range, then meet me at Kensington at the cashier. We will make our final decision there.

Good morning Gang! Just waiting for Kensington to open at 9 (hopefully) to get a course status report before I leave my house for the course. Will be back with an update then. Just a note, for anyone interested in going to the Vancouver Golf and Travel Show today or tomorrow, admission is $13 and I think I have found a $3 off coupon. Go to www.peakgolf.ca, once there go to near the bottom of the page where you will see a green box marked "Promos and Specials". If you click on it you will be taken to a page with the coupon . . . Just print it off and you should be good to go. I will be heading there after our round today (or bucket at the range if the weather takes a turn) and you are welcome to join me if you'd like. Any who, back just after 9am again with my final update.

Hey Ralph . . . so nice to see your name on the list, how are you doing? Will you be bringing Des, Marg or Inge with you? I look forward to seeing you and your posse on Saturday!

Hi Gary, welcome to our golf meetup group! Always nice to have a seasoned golfer along for the ride. Not sure if you are aware, but Kensington does not allow full sized golf bags or wheeled pull carts on the course. You can use your five fingered golf carrier, or they have Pitch and Putt sized bag rentals at the Cashier for a buck or 2. I see you are into photography as well . . . feel free to bring your camera, take some pics and post them to the event website if you would like. Always nice to have more pictures online than the standard ones I end up taking!
I look forward to meeting you and am hoping that we have good weather so you won't have to play indoor brewski golf instead! ;-D See you Saturday!
