Potter to McHugh

Let's hike Potter to McHugh and back for a total of 6.6 miles. This is for intermediate hikers. It's one of my favorites for the lush vegetation, trickling creeks, and fantastic views. According to Lisa M. Maloney "You'll know you're within a mile of McHugh Creek trailhead when you find yourself gaping in awe at the giant trees around you." Besides a few steep hill, it's low elevation gain.

This hike is about a 15 minute drive from South Anchorage. Be bear prepared with spray, bells, and bear horn.

If you have control of your dog(s) off-leash, you are welcome to bring yours! If not, leashes will be required.
