us Thursday\, Oct. 22 for the [Wild & Scenic Film Festival at Mt. Vernon's
  Lincoln Theater](https://www.skagitfisheries.org/event/wild-scenic-film-f
estival-3/). This evening of short films will kick off with a happy hour &
mingle starting at 6 pm\, followed by the film showing at 7 pm. We may ge
t together for dinner beforehand if there's interest (leave a note in the
comments if you'd like to join us for dinner).\n\n"Join **Skagit Fisheries
Enhancement Group** for the **Wild & Scenic Film Festival**! The Festival
is a collection of films that spark a love for nature & inspire environme
ntal action.\nSkagit Fisheries hand-selects a curated lineup of nine short
films that captivate the senses and spark curiosity that deepens our appr
eciation for the natural world and our community's efforts to protect it.\
nThese films were hand-selected from over 100 shown at the flagship festiv
al in Nevada City\, California\, capturing the spirit of environmental mov
ements around the world and the relationship between humanity and the natu
ral world. All funds raised during this event will directly support our mi
ssion of enhancing salmon populations in the Skagit River Valley."\n\n**Yo
u must buy your own tickets directly from Wild & Scenic [here](https://www
 .eventbrite.com/e/wild-scenic-film-festival-tickets-1996466593324).** They
are $23.18 with the proceeds going to Skagit Fisheries. There's a chance
this will sell out\, so get your tickets soon.\n\n"The Wild & Scenic Film
Festival works with environmental groups across the globe to host On Tour
events as a way to outreach into different communities and bring together
a diverse audience.\nThe Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to engaging the community in restoring wild salmon
populations for future generations. Salmon habitat enhancement is accompl
ished through habitat restoration\, monitoring\, and a wide variety of com
munity outreach and education programs. Skagit Fisheries offers free educa
tional programs to over 1\,500 students each year. These opportunities get
students out of their classrooms and learning hands-on real science and w
atershed exploration which otherwise would not be available and affordable
to local schools. Funds raised will go towards supporting these important
education programs\, and will enable the program to continue to be offere
d free of charge to local schools."\n\nWe will meet in front of the theate
r at 6:00 PM and go in en masse to find a place to sit. If you can't make
it by 6\, let us know in the comments and we'll save you seat.
