Midweek Walk: Wendover and the woods

The walk takes from the car park along the High Street where we pick up the Ridgeway path. Hidden behind the residential area are two little parks, a picturesque stream and a lake before reaching St. Mary’s Church. Heading into the country, we continue to follow the Ridgeway on an uphill path before entering Wendover Woods.
Once into the woods, we leave the Ridgeway and follow footpaths below the visitor centre After walking around the Hill Fort site, we descend a steep path before returning back to the starting point in Wendover where we can have a coffee or tea in one of the many welcoming cafes. The walk is approximately 6 miles and should take 2.5 hours.
We meet in the Library car park HP22 6DU in Wendover at 10.30. If you come in from Aston Clinton through Halton and into the High Street, the car park is on the left.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals.
