Marshall,

I'm sorry that you left mid-way thought the event. The first part was highly structure and the second part was unstructured to facilitate conversation and question the community on what should happen next. Anyway, we're now organized for an event on the 9th or 10th to further build an OpenNY policy document.

As for volunteering, what are you looking to do? I know that there are many NY Senate candidates need help AND would love your help.

Hi Noel;

Interesting event. The talks were great and each had an interesting perspective to offer. I'm looking for an org to get involved with, probably more on a volunteer basis. The second part however, felt very unstructured though. I left because I had no idea where it was going.

Thank you all who attended in person, virtually, or in spirit. Over the past month we've grown 40 new members and we are now 250 strong!

A big thanks to Gustavo Rivera who offered up his office as a laboratory for Gov2.0 initiatives. A huge thanks to Councilmember Brad Landers who wants us to help him push for more open data. AND a huge thanks to our other selected guests who demonstrated we are just beginning this battle.

Next Steps?
1. Tell your friends to join the #OpenNY Meetup at http://www.meetup.com/openny/ - we'll be posting videos soon.

2. Later today, Phil Ashlock will send out an outline of an Open New York policy paper we're drafting.

3. Save the date, Nov 9th or 10th for our next meetup.

4. Volunteer and vote. It's important for you to get out and support candidates who know and/or are sympathetic to our message.

See you one week after the election!

Cheers,
Noel & the Open NY facilitation team
