Heads up open data community -
On October 20 and 21 in NYC, the Shared Learning Collaborative (SLC) will host an ed-tech codeathon to support a national launch in December 2012. App developers will have the chance to win up to $2,000 (x2) for apps that support the classroom and $300 (x3) for product concept pitches. The event registration link is: http://slccampny.eventbrite.com/
. Please see our write-ups for prior Boston and Chicago codethons.
SLC has developed a set of secure, shared technology services for districts to connect student data and education materials in an integrated manner for effective use by educators, parents and students. The SLC will reach up to 10 million students by the end of 2013. Our technology provides modern interfaces such as a RESTful API, so today's web developers know how to plug in and develop useful apps.
