Hey Frank,
We're happy to jump-in as well. Additionally this competition that we (seeclickfix) are hosting with David Eaves, Kaggle and Microsoft would be a great avenue for finding folks. Folks here should collaborate as well if you're interested.

Hello, Frank and all,

Thank you for this. I likewise look forward to helping the team: might sketching concepts, mapping wireframes, refining designs be useful to you? I am an Information Architect and UI/UX/DataViz Designer, and can assist in that capacity.

To follow up on Chris’ point of information flow and intended audiences, thought I’d try to research any previous visual implementations along these lines, and came across the following articles. If you have not yet seen them, maybe something here is of interest to the group, or can begin to provide additional directions and references.

I'm happy to help with some dashboard implementation/mapping!  Frank, do you intend for this to be specifically tailored at elected officials, or citizens, or both?   How do you envision the flow of the feedback loop running?

Hi Frank

My partner and I have been looking at 311 data and working with it to help small businesses.
We've been looking at clusters of repeat kinds of concerns and also overlaying what different kinds of concerns you see based on census and other data (like proximity to schools etc).

We'd love to help and partner with you.

Thanks!

Here's a possible direction for some of the BetaNYC crew this fall: turning 311 into an informative, meaningful tool for local action.

For example, what does the 311 dashboard on a Council Member's desk (or pocket) look like? With new representatives at every level of gov, what new tools using 311 data can inform them of community concerns? Can a local feedback loop with 311 help create more rewarding civic engagement?

I'm interested in working on this, focusing on communities with persistent quality of life problems. Who's in?
