What we're about

Hello Forever Young Friends,

Jack Frazee has officially stepped down as Lead Organizer. I have now taken his place. That includes paying the Meet Up Membership fee's. I prefer not to charge a membership fee to members so I will continue to collect donations thru the Plumfund, https://www.plumfund.com/club-fundraising/forever-young-annual-membership or at our monthly Meet n Greet. Thank you so much for those who have already donated.

As you know I host the monthly Meet n Greet events the first Wednesday of every month and make name tags for all to facilitate getting to know one another. I highlight the nametags of new members to make sure our veterans make them feel welcome. I also host dance meetups for the band Undercover who I am a groupie of. I hope we can get more members to host other events when they are making social plans. Only requirement is to show up and facilitate introductions if needed. Please contact me with any concerns or ideas for events to schedule.

After all, We are all Forever Young!!

Want to join FUN events, try NEW things, and make new FRIENDS? Yes? Then join us! We're always doing something fun and exciting in Madison and beyond! We also host social events to create great friendships along the way.Our members are friendly, laid back and very social, ranging from college aged to retired and are just the right amount of crazy! Our membership is a diverse mix of singles and couples, interests, and occupations. We all have one important thing in common, we love to have FUN! You never have to worry about coming alone, because we are a friendly bunch! Our calendar is filled with fun events for all budgets and interests! We plan some of the most unique and fun events on Meetup.

This is not a "singles" group. Some of the members are single, others are not. Please be respectful in your contacts with fellow members. If you do not already know a member, please do not contact them through the meetup website. If you feel uncomfortable with the actions of a fellow member, please contact us via email using the "contact us" link.

The required photo needs to be a photo that clearly shows your face so we can recognize you at events... thanks!

NO SHOW/RSVP Policy: A No Show is when you RSVP yes then don't attend. This is easy to avoid, keep your RSVP up to date. If your plans change and you can no longer attend an event, change your RSVP to no. If you RSVP yes, but really mean maybe, be sure to update this before the event. Your RSVP at the RSVP deadline is what we expect of you. An emergency can happen, just be sure to contact the organizer or event host ASAP. That's one "no show" and that's plenty. We need to keep our relationships with local businesses intact and if we get a reputation for not keeping our word to them, they may quit working with us or start charging us to use their space.

Mannish Boys at East Side Club

The East Side Club

It's spring, outdoors, and I'm fully vaccinated! Let's hope a new COVID-19 surge doesn't cause it to be canceled. Keep wearing your masks! Bring your own seating.

The Madtown Mannish Boys are a Madison-based Blues band who are steeped in Chicago-style Blues, including artists like Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, Otis Spann, Paul Butterfield, and Little Walter. They perform with raw exuberance and driving rhythms that make you want to boogie. Some of their tunes are harmonica-driven, played with gritty fervor and intense energy. Others are soulful ballads, heavily influenced by the likes of Otis Redding and Sam Cooke. This mix of styles and genres makes for an entertaining and dynamic show that you won’t want to miss.

Anyone interested in Shooting - trap or pistols?
Needs a date and time

Hope Rod & Gun Club

I have been taking people out shooting for their first time, and so far it's been great. Of the three people, two loved it and want to go again, and the other loved it and wants to buy a pistol of her own now. So now I would like to open it up to the members of this group. It’s all done in a very safe environment, with a short training demonstration first, and all the help you want.

There is a pistol range and a trap shooting range, so we can do either or both. There is a minimal cost, between $5 and $10 depending on what you want to do (this is a range and ammunition cost, I charge nothing for my time). Or, if you have a safe place to shoot, we can possibly go there.

Right now I’m trying to get a feel for who, and how many, would be interested in doing this. If I get enough interest I will create a meetup for it, most likely on a Sunday. Signing up does not commit you for anything, you’re just saying you’re interested. So sign up, or message me and let me know your interests.
